C. S. I. (Cool Shape Investigation) WebQuest Grade Level: 3-5 Content Area(s): Math http://questgarden.com/21/45/4/070227065002/ |
|
This is a great math WebQuest that gives students an opportunity to explore and discover the characteristics of 3-dimensional geometric shapes. These shapes include Rectangles, Triangles, Pyramids, Spheres, Cubes, and Cylinders. Many of the links on this WebQuest also lead to additional math websites that contain a plethora of useful math tools.

The Light in the Forest Grade Level: 4th Content area(s): English & Language Arts http://henry.sandi.net/staff/lgood1/litf/ |
|
This WebQuest is very interesting because it uses the novel A Light in the Forest by Conrad Richter as part of the assignment. Students must read the novel and assume the role of one of the characters in the book. This limits the WebQuest's potential, but it serves as an excellent model to inspire others. In addition, the WebQuest has links to handouts and worksheets that support the story. Some of the links are no longer active, but overall this is an excellent WebQuest. |

Exploring the Oceans Grade Level: K-5 Content Area(s): Art\Music\English\Language Arts http://questgarden.com/55/38/3/070926064038/
|
|
This WebQuest is very useful for students who are studying
science, language arts, or art. I think it would be very useful as an
integrated studies unit on science and social studies or history. The
students taking part in this WebQuest will be studying the oceans in groups
of four. They will be also be studying ocean life as well as the continents
that border the oceans. One of the neatest aspects to this assignment is that
students will also study many of the explorers who sailed these oceans and
even some who discovered the continents. |

Caring for our Fishpond Grade Level: 3-5 Content Area(s): 3-5 http://questgarden.com/46/01/4/071011223748/
|
|
This great WebQuest teaches students the values of going
green. It introduces students to research techniques for caring for plants
and animals that are native to Hawaii. It also introduces concepts such as
conducting experiments and digitally recording, documenting, recording, and
sharing information through telecommunications. I found this WebQuest to be very informative and
interesting. It would be a great science lesson and definitely keep students
interested and informed. Some of the web links were no longer good, but I
still found the information in this WebQuest to be very useful. |

Our Solar System Grade Level: 3-5 Content Area(s): Science http://questgarden.com/51/51/0/070516153949/
This is a great WebQuest that assigns students into small
groups in order to complete a space mission. Each student becomes an
astronaut and is required to find a new place for humans to live. Because the
Earth is too crowded each group of astronauts will explore our solar system
in order to find a new planet to inhabit. The links that were provided on the WebQuest were full of
useful information on each planet in our solar system. I spent 20 minutes
just exploring each link. It was very interesting. This would be a perfect
science assignment and I think that I will use it in my own class. |

Severe Weather Grade Level: 3-5 Content Area(s): English\Language Arts\Science\Social Studies http://questgarden.com/51/51/5/070516154014/
|
|
This is a great WebQuest in which students will work in
groups in order to prepare for terrible weather. Each group will become a
possibly sever weather condition. For example, one group will become a
hurricane, one a tornado, one a flood, and the last one will represent an
earthquake. The purpose of this assignment is to allow students to experience
a severe weather condition and to learn how to predict such weather and
prepare. |
