Created by: Beth Fairbanks

Step One: Downloading Audacity for Mac or PC

Go to the following free download site for Mac or PC: Audacity

Step Two: Follow Directions to download Audacity. You will see the head phones in the dock or you my need to go to applications to see the icon.

Step Three: Double Click on the icon and audacity will open up

Step Four: These are some of the tools you my use in Audacity

Step Five: Spliting the playhead in Audacity, you will need to highlight the audio that you do not want, and then you will go to edit and split. After you have split the playhead you are able to delete the audio. Highlighting and deleting the audio also works.

Step Six: You can import music in Audacity by going to project and import audio. You my use music from your iTunes, and in a Mac you my also import from GarageBand

Step Seven: After you have your project is finished you are able to export. (Mac export to MP3). This is a few steps and an additional download that you will need. Audacity has a difficult time downloading MP3 files, so you will need to download a LAME encoder for MP3 files. To get this download this go to: LAME encoder (Hint: Use GarageBand if you have it)

Step Eight: (For PC export to WAV) This is wonderful for the PC and works great in MovieMaker
