Creating a Launch Page
in Word™
- Open Microsoft Word
- Decide on a Topic for
your Launch Page
- Use any of the
following search engines to locate information on your
Launch Page
- Bookmark each page you
wish to use as a link in your Launch Page
- Add your text
- Use two different fonts
- Use two or more different styles
- Use two or more colors
- Use fonts of two or more sizes
- Use two different alignments
- Use Format Painter to duplicate font, color, style, etc.
- Add your links as a bulleted list
- In Word, type the
name of websites you wish to link to:

- Open your Internet
browser (Explorer or Firefox)
- Navigate to the
site where you wish your students to go
|

- Move back to your Word launch page
- Hightlight the text
that will become a link:

Go to Insert >
Hyperlink: |

|
|

|
Paste the URL in
the box for the URL: |

|
- Click
OK
- Your text will now
appear blue and underlined to indicate that it is a link.
- Repeat the process
until all of your links are completed
|
- Use tables to add images
- Locate suitable images and place them in a folder
- Create tables to position your images
- Insert images as desired and add drop down shadow
- Cite image source
- Insert Word Art to add interest
- Insert two or more Auto Shapes
- Save your Launch
Page
- Place on the school
server in a place you and your students can access
it
- Congratulations! You
have just completed your Launch Page!
