Monday | Tuesday Morning | Tuesday Afternoon | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday

Monday Afternoon Session

This afternoon will focus of elements that are needed to create exemplary websites. We will share our ideas via Padlet. Then, each of you will also create a word cloud to be incorporated into your site that will let other campers know a little about you.

Tuesday Morning Session 1

This morning, each of you will create an All About Me Website that you will link to the educational site you create this week.

Tuesday Morning Session 2

During this session you will each create a mind map that shows (a) the main sections of your website, (b) how your website will be organized, and (c) your navigation. Once Alice or John have reviewed your map, you will then create the home page for your new website.

  • Create a mindmap using bubbl.us (or a mindmapping tool of your choice) for your new site. One example follows:

    Web Plan

  • Add arrows to your mindmap to indicate your navigation scheme
  • Get feedback on your mindmap from Alice or John
  • Using your revised mindmap, create the first page in your Educational Site
  • Edit fonts, colors, backgrounds, themes until you are satisfied with the look of your main page

Tuesday Afternoon Session 1

During this session, you will plan how you can make your site extraordinary by incorporating a variety of media into your site. You will also make decisions on how you can display your students' work on your site.

  • Brainstorm how you can model the use of the following tools in your website:

  • Add this information to your mindmap. Click to see an example.

  • Your map should also indicate ways of publishing student work:

    Student_Work

  • Add this information to your mindmap. Click to see an example.

  • See a great example of a website displaying student work, created by Lynn Castiglione who teaches at Bellair School in the Phoenix area.

Tuesday Afternoon Session 2

During this session, you will make your site more interesting and interactive by embedding or linking to a variety of Web 2.0 tools that many website developers use.
